Public Sector Projects
MRA
conducts many projects for the public sector. In 2002 and 2009, MRA
conducted major market studies on Cape Breton Marinas for Enterprise Cape
Breton Corporation (ECBC), including a tourism economic impact analysis
using the TEIMS model. Between 2002-06, we completed several studies and
projects on Nova Scotia Exporters for Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI),
including development of several export databases. In 2001, we completed an
economic evaluation of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)
Academic Partnering Export Marketing Program. Other studies in recent years
include an economic capacity study in the Nova Scotia wood cabinet industry,
a strategic plan for the whole of the Nova Scotia agri-foods industry and a
strategic plan for Nova Scotia regional airports.
MRA has conducted several dozen
studies for ACOA over the past 20 years, including many under a standing
offer call-up. We also had a standing offer with ICOD, when that
organization was in existence, and completed more than $200,000 of work. Our
engagement with DFO has resulted in several contracts totaling more than
